Edinburgh is a dynamic and expanding city with development activity across all sectors and at all scales.The Council is looking for an Assistant Building Standards Surveyor to fill a post in a busy team within the Planning and Transport Service. The team’s main functions are processing building warrant applications and completion certificates in accordance with the Building (Scotland) Act 2003 and the Building (Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 2004. The team also assists with liquor licensing.

You should have an HND or SVQ4 in a building related subject or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge and skills in the Building Standards process. Experience of verifying applications for building warrant or working with plans in a design office would be desirable.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual able to work flexibly and to tight deadlines. Your communication and customer care skills must be of the highest standard.

You would be required to carry out site inspections for which a driving licence is desirable.
