Assistant Team Leader - Fixed term for 12 months

You should have relevant knowledge and understanding of secure services, open houses for young people and an in-depth understanding of the needs of children & young people looked after. Furthermore a working knowledge of assessment, care planning and delivery of the appropriate support needed for this cohort. 

This post will require you to work within a Senior Team who oversee services to looked after and accommodated children & young people.

You will lead and manage a group of residential care officers providing a service to children/young people which will include the following key functions -  emergency admission, residential placements, outreach and respite and to act as responsible manager in the absence of the Team Leader and ensure safe operation of the service.

Prior experience in a managerial position within a social services setting is a desirable.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.  For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals.
