Building Standards Surveyor (Building Control) (3 Posts)
Salary: £28,688 - £34,234
Edinburgh is a dynamic and expanding city with development activity across all sectors and at all scales. The Council is looking for two qualified and experienced Building Standards Surveyors to fill posts in busy teams within the Planning and Transport Service. The teams' main functions are processing building warrant applications and completion certificates in accordance with the Building (Scotland) Act 2003 and the Building (Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 2004. The teams also assists with liquor licensing.
You should have a degree in a building related subject. Associate membership of the RICS or an equivalent professional body is desirable. You will also have a detailed knowledge of building regulations in a UK context. Knowledge of licensing legislation relating to building standards is desirable.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual able to work flexibly and to tight deadlines. Your communication and customer care skills must be of the highest standard.
You would be required to carry out site inspections for which a driving licence is desirable
