Business Assistant - Service Matching Unit (SMU)
Waverley Court

Salary: £24,064 - £26,468
Hours: 36 per week

1 permanent & 1 fixed term for 6 months

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced administrator to fulfil the vacant posts of a Business Assistant within the Service Matching Unit.

I am looking for a member of staff who would like an excellent opportunity to assist in the Service Matching Unit . You will provide a full range of duties to support the matching of packages of care to both internal and external Providers.

The Service matching Unit – is a fast paced environment so the ability to prioritise and record accurate information is vital. The vacancies play a key role in matching packages of care to ensure a prompt discharge from hospital or to keep those currently waiting in the community safe in their own home. You will be responsible for issuing contracts, recording Payments/ services and responding to queries from both internal and external customers. You will also provide a full range of duties to support the matching of packages of care to both internal and external Providers. You will require excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to multi-task effectively and to deal with complex and challenging situations in a confidential and sensitive manner.

The postholder is not directly responsible for managing staff, although s/he is expected to provide guidance and support to other staff members as part of a team environment.

In most cases decisions will be made within the confines of well-defined departmental procedures and guidelines. However, procedures for each of the above areas are detailed and complex, with both support staff and operational staff having a role. It is therefore imperative that support staff understand the boundaries between the operational and support roles and when to seek advice or guidance from their Business Officer/Manager with respect to situations that are unclear.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
