Care and Support Worker
Castle Crags - Housing Support with Care at Home Service

Salary: £20,251 - £22,655 (pro rata for part time)
Hours: Various full time and part time posts available

We are seeking to employ enthusiastic care staff to join our team, supporting adults with all aspects of day to day living, including day trips, keeping in touch with friends and family, independent living skills and holidays. We invest in our staff with a robust training package on joining, including bespoke training in communication strategies and in ‘Positive Behavioural Support.’ Staff will also be supported to gain the formal qualifications required for registration with Scottish Social Services Council. Working hours including mornings, afternoon, evenings, and weekends as part of a planned rota system.

The hours generally being from 7am – 2.30pm and 2.30 – 10pm. Shift work and weekends receive an enhanced rate of pay above the basic salary. In addition to this we offer a generous annual leave package. Part time hours and flexible working arrangements may be negotiable if these meet the needs of the service. A full clean driving licence is desirable but not essential. 

It is a condition of this post that you are Registered with the Scottish Social services Council (SSSC). If you are not registered with the SSSC when taking up this post you have six months from the date of your employment to do so. You will be supported to begin this process during your induction.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
