Cleaning Operative
North West Edinburgh - see below

Salary: £19,123 - £19,424 (pro-rata for part-time and sessional 40 weeks)
Hours: Various

We are looking for permanent  40 week sessional Cleaning Operatives  & 52 week  Flexible Cleaning Operatives to join the team in the following locations:

Davidsons Mains Nursery. Ratho Community Centre, Kirkliston area, Queensferry High, Queensferry Nursery, Queensferry area & Lauriston Castle.

Flexible Cleaning Operatives are required to move from property to property potentially on a once daily basis. 

Facilities Management specialises in the cleaning of our schools and council properties and has an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic cleaning operatives to join our dynamic team. These permanent positions are well suited to an individual that is looking to work as part of a team and to advance their career in Facilities Management and gain hands-on experience in a thriving and supportive workplace.

We are looking for people who have good time management skills, can follow instructions, can work alone and as part of a team.  Previous experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

Duties for all positions include:

  • The cleaning and disinfection of all surfaces, internal glass, floors, furniture, fixtures and fittings within a group of buildings.
  • The cleaning of all sanitary areas, toilets and showers and the replenishment of washroom consumables.
  • Emergency and re-active cleaning as required, e.g. removal of graffiti, body fluid spillages, accidental spillages.
  • The care and cleanliness of all equipment used in carrying out the above duties.
  • Setting alarms and locking buildings

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
