Job Description

Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership

Community Care Assistant
ATEC24 Service, Kings Haugh, Peffermill

Salary: £24,890-£28,854 per year
Hours: 36 per week

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the newly formed Assistive Living Team, within ATEC24.

ATEC24 provides equipment, alarms and telecare services to citizens across Edinburgh. The Assistive Living Team is focussed on the implementation of a pro-active approach to equipment and telecare provision/services. The team encompasses the Bathroom Equipment Assessment Team (BEAT) and is also responsible for carrying out complex telecare assessments and reviews of citizens in receipt of community alarm and/or telecare.  The aim is to support vulnerable individuals to maintain their safety and independence, within their home environments and communities.

The successful candidate will be part of a small team of CCAs, led by a Senior Occupational Therapist at ATEC24.  The post holder will be required to drive a small CEC van, to carry out home visits to citizens living across the city of Edinburgh.  They will be responsible for carrying out assessments & reviews, providing advice and installing equipment (aids for daily living and/or telecare devices).

The team are currently working in a hybrid capacity; applicants should therefore be flexible to adapt their work location as necessary.

The post holder will work within CEC core working hours, Monday to Friday.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
