Dean Park Primary School is a thriving non-denominational primary school which serves the village of Balerno, in the South West of Edinburgh. The main school is currently organised into 18 classes of P1-P7, and our nursery offers full-time spaces for up to 88 children.

We pride ourselves on our positive and inclusive ethos and we have a team of dedicated staff, committed to ensuring the wellbeing of and equity for our families.

The Nursery is very well supported by its local community and is ideally situated to take advantage of the natural resources for outdoor learning offered by our grounds, the Pentlands National Park, Malleny Wood and the Water of Leith. We enjoy excellent links with the other educational providers in our community and work closely with each setting.

Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.

We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.  For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals.
