Job Description

Place

Energy Climate and Change Officer
Waverley Court

Salary: £28,854 - £34,057
Hours: 36 per week

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking to recruit an Energy Climate and Change Officer to support delivery of an ambitious property improvement programme across the Council’s entire housing estate of over 20,000 homes. Over the next decade, we will deliver a large scale retrofit programme to meet Government Statutory targets on energy efficiency ratings and our own net zero carbon targets.

This is an exciting opportunity for an accredited Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) to coordinate and implement energy and climate change strategies and policies to meet local and national energy and climate change targets and legislation in relation to Place property portfolio.

The key requirements of the roles will be:

• Review, analyse and manage energy performance of the Council’s housing stock.

• Implement an energy efficiency performance monitoring framework.

• Carry out property surveys and inspections to support project planning, reporting to internal and external stakeholders and ensuring statutory compliance and reduction of carbon emissions.

• Carry out production of Energy Performance Certificates, ensuring the EPC ratings conform to Scottish Housing Quality Standard criteria.

We are looking for people who have enthusiasm, resilience, the ability to make decisions under pressure and the ability to work positively and proactively with a range of stakeholders. You will work in a team of Surveyors and will liaise with other members of the team and contractors as required.

If you would like to know more about about the role, please contact tenantandresident@edinburgh.gov.uk.

We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
