An exciting and attractive opportunity for a proactive and positive individual has arisen to join the Councils Housing Service within Concierge and Estates team Located in our multi storey blocks within the city’s four localities. The Concierge and Estates team play a pivotal role in keeping high rise building clean and secure, using CCTV and communication systems providing support to tenants and liaising with other key services. The postholder should have an ability to communicate effectively with the public and work with others in maintaining buildings. The roles cover a mixture of work patterns with flexibility to cover or move between roles throughout the locality.

Key duties of the post include:

Essentially to clean multi storey high rise blocks and surrounding neighbourhood areas in several Edinburgh Localities.

A wide range of customer contact and liaison with colleagues across various services to assist residents and ensure the safety and security of the blocks.

Where necessary operate CCTV monitoring equipment and door entry and other IT systems.

Working as part of a team ensuring high standards of cleaning and hygiene throughout the estate.

Ensuring buildings and estate well maintained.

Where necessary assist in covering shifts as requested by concierge team leader. Complying with health and safety guidelines Keep high rise blocks and neighbourhood clean, tidy and fire safe.

Working as part of a team taking responsibility for workload. Covering areas as required for annual leave and in times of staff shortages.

Proactive in dealing with cleaning and repairs issues and awareness of conditions for local people.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
