To help the Council meet its statutory obligations under information governance legislation, we are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our Information Governance Unit as an Information Compliance Officer.
The successful candidate will support the wider work of the Information Governance Unit, but will have specific responsibilities around responding to reviews under Scotland’s freedom of information laws, undertaking data protection impact assessments, responding to data breaches, and providing expert advice to Council services.
Candidates will need to have a track record of working in an information compliance environment, with the ability build trusted relationships across the organisation. You will need to be highly organised, with the ability to collate, evaluate, distil, and present information in an accessible way. You must be able to manage your own time as working to statutory deadlines is key to the role.
As one of Scotland’s largest local authorities, this role is a great opportunity to enhance your skills and join a well-established team committed to promoting the value of information, its effective management, and upholding the information rights of individuals.
To discuss this opportunity, please contact Kevin Wilbraham, Information Governance & Strategic Complaints Manager at: kevin.wilbraham@edinburgh.gov.uk
