Waverley Court

Salary: £13,609 - £15,285
Hours: 36

How would you like to assist the Procurement team in buying everything from vehicles and new schools to the fairground rides for Edinburgh’s Christmas festivities? The modern apprentice would be part of the Commercial and Procurement team who are responsible for buying all of the goods and services that the Council requires.

You will have the opportunity to learn how to buy goods and services, how they are paid for and how to use data for extra bargaining power. You will have the opportunity to be involved in the administrative support required to advertise, score and award tenders to successful suppliers as well as providing support to your colleagues and become a valuable member of the team.

You must be interested in data and will use your existing IT skills and talents and learn lots of new ones during your time with the department. This could be the start of a very interesting career and you may have the opportunity to progress onto further training.

Procurement is a recognised profession where further professional development can be attained while working.”
