A secondment opportunity is welcomed, however candidates who are interested in the post must have their managers' agreement for secondment
Registration with a relevant professional body (SSSC, HPC, BPS) is required for this post.
Multisystemic Therapy (MST) is a community based model directed at families with teenagers aged 11-17 who engage in anti-social behaviour. The service aims to reduce risk of young people coming into care, prevent family breakdown, reduce offending and improve educational outcomes. Post holders will need to hold a valid full UK driving licence.
We are looking for people who want to help families help themselves by working intensively with them in their own home and in the community with a whatever it takes attitude to make changes to the young persons behaviour.

There is a requirement to complete an initial 5-day specialist training package for MST.
You must also be available to provide on call 24 hour cover when on call.
Experience of working directly with families and young people presenting challenging behaviour is essential together with working within Framework of legislation relation to children.
It is essential that you have experience in some of the following areas: family therapy, behaviour therapy, parenting management skills training, mental health, development/implementation of intervention, crisis management/intervention and risk assessment.
It is essential to hold a professional qualification in Social work, Psychology, Mental Health or a related area.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range. For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals.
