Pupil Support Officer (Fixed term to 30/06/2021)
Currie Community High School

Salary: £22,129 - £26,393 (pro-rata for sessional 39 weeks)
Hours: 36 per week, 39 weeks per year

Currie Community High School is a non-denominational secondary school which serves the area of south west Edinburgh. It draws most of its students from Currie, Juniper Green and Nether Currie primary schools.  Almost all learners leave to a positive destination.  The catchment area comprises predominantly suburban / owner occupied with a small rural element. The school roll currently stands at 727 of whom 20% attend as a result of parental placing requests.

We require a Pupil Support Officer to work within our Support for Learning Department. Employment will commence when all pre-employment checks have been completed.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by The City of Edinburgh Council.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.  For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals.
