Secondary Teacher (EAL) - fixed term until 28/06/2023
Additional Support for Learning Service - Citywide
Salary: £28,113 - £42,336 (pro-rata for part time)
Hours: 35 per week
Part-time applicants and teachers applying on a secondment basis are welcomed.
Teachers applying on a secondment basis should seek the approval of their Head teacher before applying.
Applications are invited from secondary registered teachers with appropriate specialist knowledge and experience of working with bilingual and minority ethnic learners using inclusive approaches. The ability to work collaboratively with a range of practitioners to create high quality inclusive learning environments is essential. Experience of working with learners who have other support needs, including Gypsy Traveller pupils is an advantage.
The Additional Support for Learning service is a peripatetic service and applicants must be willing to work anywhere in the city and in any school, including specialist provisions.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
