Senior Business Analyst - fixed term up to 2 years
Waverley Court
Salary: £40,275 - £47,654 (Grade 8)
Hours: 36 per week
We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst working to deliver high priority programmes that support the implementation of the Council’s Business Plan and Medium Term Financial Plan.
We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running to support the development of business cases, business process analysis and actively leading mapping business process and providing analytical support.
You will have:
- Experience of working as a Business Analyst supporting the delivery of a wide range of programmes / projects in a change programme context
- Ability to use expert judgement and creativity to analyse, interpret and present complex data.
- Demonstrable experience of Business Process Mapping/Re-engineering
experience - Ability to analyse complex data sets, develop potential solutions to issues, draw conclusions and present findings in accessible ways to inform strategic decision making.
- Ability to work well under pressure, autonomously and to tight deadlines.
- Ability to assess, plan and manage risk across operations and strategy
- Ability to lead the teams and instil a positive ‘can do’ culture
- Experience of leading by example, inspiring confidence and building respect

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range. For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals.
Location: Hybrid working with 2 or 3 days a week based in Council Headquarters, 4 East Market Street, Edinburgh
