Senior Care and Support Worker
Castle Crags Complex Care Services

Salary: £26,393 - £31,484 (pro rata for part time). Enhanced payments are applicable for Unsocial Hours (evening and weekends), Disruption and standby.
Hours: 36 hours full time or minimum 30 hours part time posts available

Using Positive Behavioural Support we provide inclusive community based care and support services for adults with Learning Disabilities who have additional complex needs relating to Autism, Behavioural support or Mental Health.

This service provides support to individuals to live in and receive support from their home on a 24/7 basis. We support a range of established tenancies as well as people moving into their own home for the first time or gaining their own tenancy following a period of assessment and treatment. Due to the growth within the service we have several posts across the city.

We are looking for experienced staff to join our Supervisory team of Senior Care and Support Workers. Our Senior’s act as Practice Leaders, engaging in direct care delivery whilst also supporting frontline colleagues to develop their knowledge and skills in Positive Behavioural Support.

You will lead a small team of colleagues to promote individualised and person-centred support to individuals from their own homes and communities to meet their physical, social, emotional and well-being needs.

There is a strong focus on partnership working with professionals and key stakeholders to develop robust support plans including Positive Behavioural Support, community engagement and future planning.

The successful candidates will be required to work shifts and participate in occasional standby as part of a planned rota system. This will include, early, mid, late and weekend shift working for which additional payments are made.

Part time hours (minimum of 30 hours) and flexible working arrangements may be negotiable.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.

It is a condition of this post that you are Registered with the Scottish Social services Council (SSSC). If you are not registered with the SSSC when taking up this post you have six months from the date of your employment to do so.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.  For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals.
