Salary: £19,687 to £19,969 per annum (Pro-Rata for Part-Time)

Make a positive difference to people’s lives

Would you like to support our most vulnerable citizens, earn extra salary and learn new skills which could even lead you to a different and exciting career?

We're looking for existing employees who would also be keen to work on a supply basis in Health and Social Care; this could be within Home Care or Care Homes. You might agree to work a few hours a week, a day a month, or as and when you're available.

Our main priority is to find people with the right attitude and behaviours. You don’t need to have previous experience in this field, and you don’t need qualifications to get started; we’re happy to work with you to help you become an excellent care worker.

Our service users are individuals, and they all deserve to be treated as such, with dignity and respect. Care workers help people to live independent, full and valued lives that support their health and wellbeing. They'll also help them maintain their dignity while helping with personal care such as bathing, dressing, meals, and medication.

About you

It's essential that you have a genuine desire to help people and are willing to learn. Above all we want someone that

  • has a commitment to quality and being the best they can
  • can provide excellent care and support to all our service users
  • shows dignity and respect to the people they work with and
  • works well as part of our team

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases in line with our Performance Management.

We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.
