Salary: £22,866 - £36,480
We are looking for a skilled and creative part time teacher to join our team, teaching a P5 class on Thursdays and Fridays.
Gracemount has a highly committed and highly motivated staff who work effectively to meet the needs in our school. Staff are keen to embrace the debate around equity and closing the gap and we are building long term sustainable supports to meet the needs of our pupils. Gracemount Primary School is a non-denominational school built in 1960 which serves the area of southeast Edinburgh. The school serves a catchment area which has a broad social mix and has a significant number of children from backgrounds of multiple deprivations. We are keen to have high expectations of all and be as aspirational as possible building resiliance and working hard to remove barriers to learning. The school is designated a local authority positive action school and feeds in to Gracemount High School.
The school role is 547 and continues to rise as the new housing developments near completion. We have 19 classes, two SFL Teachers, two Pupil Support Officers and 12 Pupil Support Assistants working in the school who are timetabled to meet the needs of specific children. .
Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
