Salary: £22,129 - £26,393
Hours: 36 per week

Are you a professional HGV driver? Have you considered a secure, permanent driving role providing a highly valued service to local communities with fixed hours and occasional overtime?

If so, a job with the Council's Waste and Cleansing Service might be worth consideration. We offer a range of shift patterns and in return you get a starting salary of around £22,129 (plus shift pattern allowances) and a generous employer pension contribution. The salary package is enhanced by a minimum of 32 days leave per year rising to a maximum of 40 days per year dependant on continuous service as well as numerous employee benefits, such as Green Car scheme, Cycle to work, Lifestyle Savings and Gym membership.

We are seeking candidates to act as front line ambassadors for the Council. You should have the ability to lead and work positively with a crew of two, with good communication and customer service skills. You will act as a point of contact for customers and service users, providing advice and responding to problems to ensure that the highest standards of customer care are met and maintained.

Help keep the City of Edinburgh Clean by being responsible for the safe operation of waste and cleansing vehicles, uplifting litter, waste and recycling material and providing information and advice about waste and recycling matters to assist the Council to meet cleanliness, landfill and waste recycling targets. This will involve collecting and separating waste and recycling, emptying bins, collecting bulky materials, litter and fly-tipping and undertaking any other similar duty.
