Job Summary

Within the Council’s Education Service overall approach to delivering and promoting a co-ordinated approach to PE, Physical Activity and School Sport (PEPASS) ensuring children and young people enjoy being physically active, become knowledgeable about active living, achieve their sporting potential and lay the foundations for a healthy active life style. In particular deliver rugby for the School of Rugby in Lornshill Academy.

Scottish Rugby has identified 15 new secondary schools situated in, or taking young people from, the most deprived areas of Scotland and will introduce and develop a CashBack Schools of Rugby – Sport for Change programme into these schools.  Clackmannanshire Council are looking for an assistant rugby coach to be based in the Lornshill Academy faculty of PE, Physical Activity and School Sport and deliver the School of Rugby programme in conjunction with Scottish Rugby, Alloa Rugby Club and other partners such as Sports Development."  This fixed term position initially for one year will require the successful candidate to predominantly follow the academic year from August 2017 to 30th June 2018 with the potential to extend to 30th June 2020.  Interviews will take place at Lornshill Academy on the 14th August this will include a practical session.


This post is considered regulated work with children and/or protected adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. You will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Clackmannanshire Council.
