We are working with our partners to Take Clackmannanshire Forward. As the Chief Executive you will ensure focus on the delivery of our vision for Clackmannanshire and develop leadership in pursuit of that vision. You will bring together communities, third sector organisations, businesses and public sector partners to work together to the benefit of Clackmannanshire and in the delivery of excellent services.
You will be a strategic leader who has consistently achieved excellence and who will ensure continued effective management and continuous improvement in the delivery of a diverse range of Council services.
The Chief Executive provides leadership, vision and strategic direction and effective management of the Council.
You will also:
- Provide advice and guidance to the Council on major policy options
- Foster and encourage a climate of corporate working, continuous improvement and innovation
- Promote and monitor performance in the implementation of Council policies and service delivery
- Provide leadership, direction and motivation for all staff
- Be responsible for the management of all other resources including the £119m general revenue budget and £55m, 5 year general capital programme budget to ensure delivery of the Council’s policies and priorities in an efficient and effective manner.
While the emphasis is on building a team culture, the Chief Executive is in a unique position of authority and accountability within the Council. The Chief Executive must ensure the overall compliance of the Council with its statutory obligations and internal policies.
The Council is embracing change in all of its activities. The Chief Executive must lead and support the change process.
This post is considered regulated work with children and/or protected adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. You will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Clackmannanshire Council. The cost of this check will be deducted from your salary.
