Job Description

Deerpark Primary School, situated beside Gartmorn Dam Country Park and Nature Reserve, serves the eastern side of the village of Sauchie. Deerpark shares a site with Lochies School, which is a school for primary aged children with severe/complex additional support needs

The school was built in 1965 and has been recently refurbished

On completion of their primary education, pupils normally transfer to Lornshill Academy. Deerpark's catchment area is an area of deprivation and attracts educational almost £70,000 per year Pupil Equity Funding, and additional resources ensuring good staff/pupil ratios. The school has a designated Home School Liaison Officer who works closely with families and outside agencies to support identified needs.

The school has a very active and supportive Parent Council who work in close partnership with the school

Candidates who are leeted will be invited to visit the school on 9 March 2020 to meet pupils and staff (this visit will be observed and form part of the assessment process)

An assessment centre for all candidates who have been leeted will take place on 11 March 2020

Candidates who have been successful at the assessment centre will be invited to a formal interview 24 March 2020

Requirements

Applications are invited from suitably qualified GTC registered teachers.

 

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. You will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Clackmannanshire Council and the cost of this check which will be deducted from your salary.
