Job Description

The post holder will be required on a day to day basis to assist the Senior Housing Officer/Project
Co-ordinator as directed with the undernoted duties:

Monitoring, planning, programming, and allocating work to craft operatives on a daily basis

Liaise with purchasing section and stores to ensure that appropriate materials are available (including vehicle imprest stock) to allow completion of scheduled work.

Liaise with all relevant stakeholders as required – tenants, private owners, external contractors, other council departments, colleagues, etc.

Ensuring that required vehicles, plant and tools are available for craft operatives as required

Monitor, control and co-ordinate work in progress

Pre and Post inspect work as required to ensure completion to the required standard

Effective supervision of craft operatives, including Health & Safety, works progression,
appropriate behaviours and training/guidance as required

Responsible for the application of all legislation and regulations which are appropriate to the job

Preparation of Technical Reports and written/verbal correspondence as required

General administration duties as required

Attend meetings within the service and with contractors/clients/tenants as required

The post holder will be expected to cover for the Senior Housing Officer/Project Co-ordinator when they are on leave/absent.
