Job Description

We are seeking an experienced social work practitioner to join our family placement team working within the Council’s fostering, adoption, and continuing care service.

Successful applicants will have experience working in Children & Families Social Work and experience of working in a family placement setting is advantageous. Applicants should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the statutory and regulatory framework underpinning the service, as well as being able to demonstrate knowledge of statutory responsibilities, relevant legislation and good practice in this area.

Applicants must have well developed assessment and report writing skills, be able to engage and communicate effectively with others. The ability to foster working relationships and work as part of a wider team is vital to this role.

Key priorities for the team relate to carer support and supervision, engagement, recruitment of new carers, and development of post adoption support services.
