Required for 15 hours per week (worked late afternoon, Monday - Friday).
The postholder will provide behavioural and care support in community settings for children with complex and profound special needs. You will assist in the design and implementation of Behaviour Management Programmes for vulnerable children and assist children with intimate care needs.
You should have experience of working with children – professionally or voluntarily – who have severe / profound learning difficulties and challenging behaviour and their families. An understanding of factors which affect children’s behaviour, learning and development is essential along with the ability to remain calm in difficult situations. A driving licence and own transport is essential for this post.
Appointment to the post is on a fixed term basis for six months.
Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of scale.
