Job Description
The purpose of this post is to implement the Council’s Inclusion Policy by working with schools and other agencies to support pupils with additional support needs.
All practice underpins the duties required under the Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Act 2004, updated 2009 & Education Scotland Act (2016) as summarised in the guidance document Supporting Children’s Learning - Code of Practice.Requirements
The successful candidate must have GTC Scotland Registration and experience of teaching pupils with a broad range of additional support needs.Responsibilities
You will regularly assess pupil’s educational, social and behavioural needs and devise and implement methods of effectively meeting those needs. You will play a key role in ensuring that pupils have access to a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum.The Individual
The above teaching post is a part time, fixed term position for the duration of the secondment of the permanent post holder. The salary is in accordance with current regulations plus £1,525 distant islands allowance.
