Job Description

Our location of the Outer Hebrides is an area of exceptional natural beauty where there is a striking mix of pristine golden sands to wide open moorland and heather backed mountains. As the heartland of Gaelic language there is a rich and distinctive culture and heritage.

You will have responsibility for the operational management of regulated care services provided across 2 locality areas. The range of job function will be primarily in the delivery of residential care, housing support, care at home, day care, intermediate and reablement care services. The post holder will work effectively towards supporting the integrated agendas of health and social care within these localities and engage purposefully within an inter-disciplinary structure. Where appropriate the post holder will undertake the Registered Management function as detailed within the Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2001.

Requirements

You will hold a qualification that allows for registration with SSSC to provide for registered management of a social care setting, i.e NMC, and hold an SVQ Level 4, Dip SW, RMN/RNMH/RGN (or any other registerable qualification). In addition you must possess a management qualification or have the ability to undertake a related course of study within a prescribed timeline. You will have a comprehensive understanding of the outcomes and needs of service user and patient groups as well as an understanding of the rights of the individual, including a broad knowledge of both National Care Standards and how these link to a human rights framework. You will demonstrate the ability to effectively manage workforce related issues, in particular professional conduct and sickness absence. A driving licence is essential.

Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of grade with annual incremental progression.
