The postholder will support and promote raising attainment challenge / social inclusion through early intervention as part of the school’s Pupil Equity Fund plan. You will investigate the underlying cause of attendance issues and target intervention appropriately. The postholder will liaise with parents and carers and other agencies in addressing attendance issues and provide solution focused approaches to dealing with attendance barriers.
It is essential that you have knowledge of educational provision, including post-school provisions, an understanding of the needs of children who need to be looked after and / or accommodated along with the ability to work with and understand young people who may have complex social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. You should have relevant work experience along with practical experience of working with young people who are particularly vulnerable in terms of social, emotional, behavioural, learning or family difficulties. The ability to work on own initiative is essential along with a full driving licence.
Appointment to the post is fixed term to June 2018. This post may be available on a secondment basis.
Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of grade.
