Post 1

 

8.5 hours per week, Tuesday and Wednesday 9.45am - 14.00pm, £4,657 per annum

 

Post 2

14 hours per week, Tuesday and Wednesday 9.45am - 17.15pm, £7,671 per annum

 

Post 3

21.25 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday 13.00pm - 17.15pm, £11,644 per annum

 

 

The Visitor Assistants will welcome our visitors, interpret the museum and archive and its collections in an enjoyable and informative way and deliver excellent standards of customer care at all times.  They will contribute to the day to day operation of the public spaces within Lews Castle Museum and Archive.

 

The Visitor Assistants will seek advice and support from the specialist staff of the Heritage Service in the execution of the duties of their post. 

 

Requirements

Successful candidates will have a clear understanding of the importance of the front of house duties to the public image of the Museum, appreciation of the importance of security and related health and safety issues, a good general level of education,  good verbal communication skills, a flexible approach to work, and the ability to work as part of a team.

 

Salary for the above posts are inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance.

 

Appointment to the posts will be fixed term to 30 September 2021.
