An exciting secondment opening has arisen for an Area Manager within Care and Support Services (CASS).
This is an excellent opportunity to gain management experience within the Health & Social Care Partnership.
As an established, well performing Care at Home and Day Care provider covering the whole of the Dumfries and Galloway region, we are looking for someone with the necessary passion, skills and commitment to help us meet the challenges associated with care provision. We are committed to staff development and delivering Service User outcomes.
As an Area Manager within the Health and Social Care Partnership, you will be required to work in a collaborative manner within your nominated locality as well as other locality areas across the region as required.
You will be responsible for the direct and indirect management of supervisors and care & support workers including providing support out of hours on a standby basis that is shared with other managers and forms part of a planned rota.
You must have an awareness of legislation and regulation surrounding Social Care. As well as being responsible for your own personal development, you will act as a role model within the service and help others to improve their knowledge and practice within the teams you are responsible for.
A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
If successful you will be required to register with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
This post is fixed term for up to 12 months.
This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.
