Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Based at Cargen Depot, Dumfries, you will assist with the provision of aid and support in the decision making process as part of the Quantity Surveyor Team in the delivery of building projects, together with operational guidance for EnterprisingDG's Building & Maintenance Services Team that includes the delivery of integrated working with Dumfries and Galloway Council and external contract works, ensuring that the quality ambitions, customer satisfaction and service standards are met as required.

You will undertake a wide range of work, including assisting with the preparation of tenders for capital works, term and housing maintenance contracts; full tender estimating and completion and submission of competitive tenders.

You will be required to assist with effective management of all staff, workforce, sub-contractors, materials and equipment, budgets and other relevant resources in order to provide an effective and efficient level of service provision to service users at all times.

You will be educated to Higher Level in Maths, English and one other subject and be working towards a HNC Professional Surveying Qualification.

You must be experienced in surveying/estimating and financial monitoring of project works and be self motivated, flexible, be able to communicate well and relate to others within a busy team environment.

A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
