Key Accountability of the Role:
Support our school communities by protecting the health of building users.
Provide a safe and secure environment for all users ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with recognised procedures and documented safe systems of work (e.g., COSHH) including Health and Safety legislation and statutory regulations.
Undertake a range of property management tasks across the premise, recording all activities and reporting of any faults using Microsoft Apps on an iPad provided for the task.
Provide a range of building facilities tasks required within Council premises which meets the standard required and meet deadlines.
Provide a range of general and emergency cleaning activities ensuring that all areas are clean, operationally safe and fit for use.
Liaise with line managers, external and internal clients in a professional manner
Carry out the above duties in any other local Dumfries and Galloway Council establishment as necessary if practicable
A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
