Casual Care Assistant

£10.14 per hour
Providing Casual cover for permanent members of staff, you will support adults with learning disabilities and complex needs to access day activities in their local communities and within the ARC building, working with individuals and / or facilitating small groups.
You will have experience of care work, preferably with adults who have learning disabilities, and an SVQ Level 2 Health and Social Care, or similar, is desirable.
You will be patient and motivated, and have an understanding of relevant guidelines for working with this client group (eg “The Same as You?”, and Keys to Life and updated documents, SSSC Codes of Practice and National Care Standards) would be beneficial.
You will be confident working on your own, or as part of a team.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
