Casual Link Worker (Vulnerable Adults)
£9.96 per hour
We are looking to recruit Casual Link Workers to work as required to provide cover for staff absences.
Casual Link Workers have the opportunity to work across various settings in Day, Community and Housing Support Services.
You will work with a highly motivated team who implement National Care Standards and have a working knowledge of “Same as You” and “Keys to Life” documents.
You will support service users to access a range of community and building –based activities. These will include learning, social and leisure opportunities and encouraging independence and lifelong learning skills.
Your duties will include developing and participating in individual and group activities, liaising with service users’ families, carers and relevant others, assisting service users with personal care and at meal times as required.
You should be a good communicator both orally and in writing, have some IT skills and be a team player.
It is essential that you hold a qualification at SVQ level 2 (or equivalent).
A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
