You will be required to work 15.5 hours per week (times of work will be discussed at interview), 39.8 weeks per year.
You will be responsible for a team of cleaning personnel; you will be a cleaning supervisor with your own designation area to clean.
You will be in charge of staff management within your role, which includes Absence Management – covering absences, carrying out Return to Work interviews with staff members, etc.
Tasks will include ordering of chemical supplies, signing off time-sheets when necessary as well as the day-to-day cleaning of the school. These tasks will involve the following: emptying of bins, cleaning of class and office bases which include damp wiping, vacuum cleaning, etc, cleaning all toilet areas, ceramics, pipe-work etc as well as public area within the school.
Usage of heavy duty cleaning equipment such as scrub wash and wet pick up machines will be incorporated into the cleaning schedule
You will also be responsible for the training of cleaning personnel
Previous cleaning experience is essential, a good knowledge of COSHH and colour-coding would be advantageous.
This is a temporary post for a period of up to 2 years. This post may be suitable for attachment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.
The above salary includes a current living wage supplement.
