The Office Staff at Annan Academy are vital to the smooth and efficient running of the school.  They are highly valued members of our whole school staff.  As the first point of contact for visitors and callers to the school, it is important that they create a friendly, courteous and welcoming atmosphere.

Based in Annan Academy School Office, you will work 36 hours per week, 38 weeks per year.  Working as part of the school clerical team, you will undertake a broad range of general clerical duties.  

 

You must have a good standard of education, excellent communication skills, experience of working in an office environment and the ability to relate to a range of staff and young people.  An aptitude for PC work and knowledge of office systems and equipment are essential.    You must be well motivated, be flexible and have a pleasant manner.  Good interpersonal skills are essential as is a full understanding of the need for absolute confidentiality well as the ability to work in a team or on own initiative and under pressure.

 

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.  Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

 

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
