You will be required to work 6.25 hours per week, 38 Weeks per year. Monday – Friday.

Working Times: to be discussed at interview

 

This post is annualised, you will receive payment each month of the year.

 

The Douglas-Ewart High School kitchen requires someone who is willing to work as part of a small team in their busy catering environment. This kitchen predominately provides catering to secondary school pupils.

 

You will be given training on various aspects of the job to allow you to work using your own initiative and contribute to the team spirit.

 

Experience not necessary as training will be given if required. 

 

Basic Food Hygiene Certificate would be advantageous but not necessary as training will be given.

 

Tasks will include light food preparation including assisting the catering manager with cooker top, serving meals, clearing up, cash handling / working a till. Setting up dining room, cleaning down kitchen.

 

You will have good customer skills to enable you to interact with our pupils and staff.

 

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.  From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

 

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.

 

This post is fixed term for up to 1 year.

 

This post may be suitable for secondment.  Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.
