Newington Primary School is the largest in the area and is part of the Annan Academy Cluster, the school currently has 14 classes, a Nursery and a Learning Zone.

As Depute Head at Newington Primary School the successful candidate must be able to bring creativity and innovation as well as a solution focussed approach to the effective delivery of Curriculum for Excellence. As well as driving forward our vision of Newington Primary School as a safe welcoming community where honesty and hard work help our learners grow into confident respectful individuals.

As Depute Head Teacher, you will work with the Senior Management and the wider school community to support colleagues in providing pupils with a school experience in line with our commitment to excellence. Experience with timetabling and health and wellbeing would be desirable. This is an opportunity for a forward thinking professional to be part of a dynamic team delivering a high quality service to its stakeholders.

The successful candidate will provide excellent and effective leadership in all aspects of school life and act as a role model and supporter in the development of innovative teaching and learning. He/she will support the Head Teacher in the overall management of the school within the context of the management team, staff, pupils and curriculum as well as the general pastoral care of pupils throughout the school.

The successful candidate will be an experienced and innovative practitioner and will have had experience of leading and managing curricular developments in a whole school context. He/she will support the Head Teacher with pastoral areas within the school. Other aspects of the remits will be decided after appointment.
