We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to provide leadership, vision and strategic direction to the Council’s Skills, Education and Learning services.
The successful candidate will work closely with Elected Members, and as a member of the Council Senior Leadership Team you will ensure the Council transforms to meet future challenges. You will play a pivotal role in driving change, leading and implementing Council long term strategy, securing continuous improvement and ensuring that priorities, objectives and statutory obligations are met.
You will lead our skills and learning ambitions through the Borderlands Growth Deal and the development of innovative skills opportunities for our young people and our workforce for the future, working with local and national partners.
You will be a strong leader with a track record of success at a senior level. Educated to degree standard [or equivalent], you will be experienced in change management, transformational leadership, designing and delivering strategic policies to improve organisational performance, effective use of resources, negotiating, communicating with and sustaining effective working arrangements with a wide range of local stakeholders and national partners.
You will be joining our Council at a time of exciting challenge and change in our region.
