You will be required to work 25 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. Posts are required to cover 8am-1pm or 1pm-6pm and this will be discussed at interview.

As part of a phased programme moving towards provision of 1140 hours of early learning and childcare, Whithorn Primary School are seeking to recruit two Early Years Support Assistants to work as an effective member of our early years team delivering a high quality child-centred service which meets the needs of children and their families.

The positions are advertised on a temporary basis up to 28th June 2019.  This post may be suitable for attachment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.

You must hold a relevant Early Years qualification, as specified by the Scottish Social Service Council (SSSC), which will enable you to register with SSSC as a practitioner. All successful applicants for early education and child care posts will be required to register with the SSSC.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates are required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
