Headteacher Primary

Eaglesfield and Hottsbridge Primary Partnership

HT02 £57,741

Combined Roll: 51 (Eaglesfield – 41, Hottsbridge – 10)

We are seeking to appoint a leader with vision and a passion for learning who will, along with a management team, lead learning at the new Eaglesfield and Hottsbridge Primary Partnership. This post offers an exciting opportunity to shape educational provision within a rural school partnership community, which has high aspirations for all.

Eaglesfield and Hottsbridge Primary Schools are situated in the Annandale and Eskdale area, close to the main M74. The schools, which are less than 3 miles apart, are very much at the centre of their communities and the Lockerbie Academy cluster.  The management structure consists of a Headteacher and a full time Principal Teacher in each school. The Headteacher position is non-class committed.

The schools are supported by warm and welcoming communities with active parent councils, who work collaboratively to support the pupils and staff. Both schools engage in using the outdoors to promote the children’s learning, taking the opportunity to utilise their local environments.

Dumfries and Galloway’s approach to Education looks to combine the traditional values, ethos and atmosphere of this unique corner of Scotland with fresh 21st Century thinking.  We are seeking to appoint a leader with vision and a passion for learning who will lead learning within the Eaglesfield and Hottsbridge Primary Partnership.  The post represents an excellent opportunity to be innovative in developing our culture of sharing and learning. Our authority has been recognised as having a clear focus on building staff skills to improve learning and teaching, raise attainment and develop strong leadership at all levels.

Applicants will have proven leadership qualities and experience in primary education and be committed to very high standards of achievement.

A significant relocation package of up to £5000 is available to the successful candidate. Please see the attached removal expenses document for further information. Please follow the link to the Council’s Relocation Policy.
