We are seeking to appoint a leader with vision and a passion for learning who will lead learning in Sanquhar Academy for a 23 month period from January 2018. Line Management agreement must be sought before applying for the position.

Sanquhar Academy in partnership with the wider community are dedicated to continuously improving the quality of our learning, teaching and support in order to ensure that all of our young people strive to achieve their goals and aspirations. Sanquhar Academy is located in the Upper Nithsdale area of Dumfries and Galloway, serving the Royal Burgh of Sanquhar and the neighbouring villages of Kirkconnnel, Kelloholm and Wanlockhead. Sanquhar is within easy reach of large parts of Dumfries and Galloway, Ayrshire and Lanarkshire.

Applicants will have proven leadership experience in secondary education and be committed to very high standards of achievement.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
