Based at Dumfries Ice Bowl there are two contracts available on annualised covering a range of activities within the facility. The post holder will be required to take responsibility for technical requirements in the facility including ice preparation/management, general maintenance and environmental controls. The post holder will be required to actively contribute towards the continuation of Dumfries Ice Bowl Quest accreditation.

We require an experienced, enthusiastic and passionate individual to be responsible for all technical matters in relation to the facility and the day to day maintenance including environmental controls and equipment maintenance. The post holder will facilitate the preparation of ice undertaking a specialist role in ice maintenance and the preparation of the ice surfaces.

As a senior member of staff you will also have responsibility for shift control, shift management, general cleanliness & housekeeping, setting up dismantling equipment, completion of operational check sheets, liaising with customers and assisting to ensure the smooth running of the facility.

Work patterns involving evening and weekend work will be required

Experience of working with members of the public and working in a leisure environment are essential. Experience of cash handling is desirable. You must have excellent customer care skills, be self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative. You will show an ability to supervise staff and to apply appropriate delegation using sound leadership qualities.

Experience in a similar role and in the delivery of leisure services will be an advantage with ice preparation qualification to minimum ice technician standard are essential. A basic leisure qualification, knowledge of Health and Safety and First Aid at Work Certificate are desirable
