You will assume responsibility for key areas of the Council’s work including an overall responsibility for the Directorate’s arrangements for staffing and resourcing across all learning establishments, including Early Learning, Primary and Secondary Schools.  As part of the Learning & Resources Team, you will work alongside other Senior Managers to ensure our School’s and ELC’s have the appropriate support and challenge to ensure our Council delivers its statutory duties and functions.

You will also work as part of Education & Learning’s Senior Management Team, which includes Quality & Curriculum functions.  You will be responsible to the Head of Education (Learning and Resources).  You will support school staff and work with parents, Elected Members and Trade Unions to ensure key Council priorities are delivered.  You will be innovative and creative in your work, leading and supporting the team in your remit.  You will have an excellent working knowledge of the SNCT and SJC staff Conditions of Service.  You will have proven effective leadership in previous senior roles within education.  You will also represent the Council on key national forums as appropriate.
