An opportunity has arisen for 2 Streetscene Operative 3 posts based in Cargen Tower, Dumfries and Sanquhar Depot, Sanquar.


This role will be to assist in the supervision of the work force on a day to day basis in relation to Burial Grounds, Play Parks, Streetscene (Grounds maintenance & street cleansing), school crossing patrols, public conveniences and community centres/village halls. Responsibilities will also include the supervision of all plant and equipment used by staff.


You will work 36 hours per week which may include evenings and weekend work as and when required.


The role will be to assist the Community Assets Supervisor and Officer in the delivery of the Streetscene Model for Grounds and street cleansing and knowledge of this model would be an advantage.


The post generally will be on-site supervision, however there may be occasional office based work including using computer systems. You must therefore be able to demonstrate a broad range of manual, semi-skilled and skilled tasks to support the maintenance of high quality environments within our communities.  


A knowledge of all services noted above is essential as is knowledge of relevant Health and Safety requirements.  Two years working within the services is essential and Driver CPC is desirable.


A current uk driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
