St Joseph’s College is a very popular secondary school situated in the town of Dumfries and currently we are looking to appointment a motivated and enthusiastic teacher to join our vibrant and successful school. The school building has recently been extensively redeveloped as part of the Schools for the Future programme and as such has a range of excellent indoor and outdoor facilities and latest equipment.
We are looking to recruit a teacher of physical education for 14 hours per week (0.4fte). This is a temporary post for a period until 31st May 2022.
Applicants are required to be fully registered in secondary education with the General Teaching Council of Scotland (GTCS), Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT.
This post considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/ or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates are required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they are resident.
In line with Section 21 (2A) of the Education (Scotland) Act 1980 the successful candidate for this post will require to have the approval of the Roman Catholic Church.
