We are looking to appoint two passionate and committed Teachers of Inclusion to work alongside our caring, established team and to ensure that we make a real difference to children’s lives.

These posts are temporary full time positions for a period of up to 18 months.

At North West Community Campus we are committed to providing the very best educational experiences and opportunities for our students.  As well as our staff being highly effective classroom teachers, they are compassionate and caring individuals who are always willing to help our youngsters in any way they can.

 

We are a 2-18 campus serving the north west area of Dumfries.

 

This post forms part of Dumfries Learning Town schools and/or the Bridge to deliver courses as part of the BGE and /or senior phase curriculum as appropriate to meet the needs of our learners.

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate experience of supporting and developing Inclusive Practice and will have the ability to deliver a range of pedagogical approaches. They will have experience of Nurture and working closely with learners with a range of additional support needs. They will join a committed team and will provide effective high quality learning experiences for our learners. The successful candidate will display a commitment to working in partnership with staff, parents and the wider community to provide quality learning experiences, helping to equip pupils with the skills to become successful, confident and responsible contributors to the world they live in.  

 

These posts may be suitable for secondment.  Permission from your line manager should be sought before applying.

 

Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.  From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council. 

 

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.

 

Please note – Pay arrangements for those starting after 1st day of school session

 

In accordance with Teachers Conditions of Service (SNCT – appendix 2.19), Teachers who commence employment with Dumfries and Galloway Council after the first day of the school session will have their salary for the remainder of the school salary year recalculated to reflect how teachers accrue pay and leave.  In these circumstances, a calculation will be carried out upon commencement of employment and pay and leave will be adjusted.
