The Young Peoples Service in Dumfries and Galloway are offering an exciting opportunity for adults who have experience in working with young people to join an innovative and award winning youth work team to deliver a range of informal learning programmes across the Dumfries and Galloway area. This permanent post will be covering Nithsdale area to deliver high quality youth work services working in partnership with local communities.

This role will also support the Youth Participation work within the Nithsdale including support to our Youth Councillors and Members of the Scottish Youth Parliament. You should have an interest in ensuring young peoples voices are heard and are acted on by decision makers.

You should be motivated and interested in working with young people aged 12+ in an informal way. You will be comfortable working within community settings with our most vulnerable young people, providing community based youth work. You must be willing to work evenings and weekends on a weekly basis.

This challenging and stimulating post is part of a wider team of workers developing and supporting creative youth work activity and involvement across Dumfries and Galloway.

The post will require evening and weekend work on a weekly basis, for which payment is included in the salary offered.

A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.

This post is fixed term until March 2022
