You will be required to work 3 hours per week, 40 hours per week.

The Young Peoples Service in Dumfries and Galloway are offering a opportunity for adults who have experience in working with young people to join an innovative and award winning youth work team to deliver a range of informal learning programmes across the Dumfries and Galloway area.

You should be motivated and interested in working with young people aged 12+ in an informal way. You will have experience in youth work, or perhaps consider yourself to be good with people and be willing to work evenings and weekends on a weekly basis. This post will be based at the Dalbeattie Peer Project working with young people with additional support needs and disabilities.

This challenging and stimulating post is part of a wider team of workers developing and supporting creative youth work activity and involvement across Dumfries and Galloway.

All training required will be provided.

The post will require evening and weekend work on a weekly basis, for which payment is included in the salary offered. The post will be working with young people within the Dalbeattie Area

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
